Richmond DUI Lawyer: Senator DUI: Kentucky State Senator Brandon Smith was arrested in January, 2015 for DUI and speeding.  A Kentucky State Trooper stopped the Senator for driving 65 mph in a 45 mph zone.  Upon approaching the Senator, the Trooper detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and the DUI investigation started.  What the Senator did not know is that every statement he made and every roadside exercise he performed just made his DUI arrest all that more certain.  Law Enforcement is now trained to arrest everyone who smells like alcohol and let the evidential breath tester sort them out. Senator Smith refused the breath tester.

Richmond DUI Lawyer: Senator DUI: Senator Smith, who owns a mining company, merited national media attention when he made the ridiculous statement:

“As you (Energy & Environment Cabinet official) sit there in your chair with your data, we sit up here in ours with our data and our constituents and stuff behind us. I don’t want to get into the debate about climate change, but I will simply point out that I think in academia we all agree that the temperature on Mars is exactly as it is here. Nobody will dispute that. Yet there are no coal mines on Mars. There are no factories on Mars that I’m aware of.”  Mars is much, much colder than the Earth.
